Braintree School

Agnes Mukasa

This empty garage attached to her son’s home is where Agnes Mukasa began Braintree School.

Agnes, a trained teacher, noticed that children in the nearby village, many of them orphans, were not attending school.

And so she asked her son if she could use the garage as a classroom.

That was 13 years ago. Starting with a handful of students, Today Braintree School has 133 students including 31 orphans!

Dorm

A $5000 grant from SFA’s first rally was matched by $15,000 from other friends and supporters of Braintree to provide a dorm for these and other orphans.

On behalf of Stand for Africa, Rev. Larry Smoose officially opened the new dormitory on Tuesday, October 30, 2007.
