Irente Children’s Home - Tanzania

Childrens' Home

Infants from birth to age 2 are especially fragile. So the Northeast Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania provides a special children’s home for these at risk infants, whose mothers have died from AIDS, Malaria or other causes.

Some, like Neema, are HIV + .

When children reach age 2, they are placed with a foster family in their home village.

On Saturday, November 3, Pastor Larry Smoose on behalf of SFA presented a check to Dr. Anneth Munga, wife of Bishop Steven Munga to help expand the Irente program so more AIDS orphans can be helped. A total of $13,000 has been sent so far from the June, 2007 SFA Rally.

Thank you Stand For Africa!

Irente is now planning to expand their program.

Stand For Africa offerings go directly to help existing, proven, church-related organizations that benefit AIDS Orphans.

Travel costs are NOT paid for by SFA offerings.
